USC Rossier created the Breakthrough Leadership Institute to give school leadership teams and individuals a place to think deeply about their school communities and how they can move intractable challenges forward. The institute focuses on interrogating a local problem of practice from a variety of school district compositions – rural, urban, or suburban. Attending teams or individuals can include the district superintendent, cabinet/c-suite members, principals, instructional leaders, union presidents, school board members, community partners, and teachers on special assignment.

Dr. Kishimoto is one of 6 USC Faculty members that co-designed the Institute and that will serve as a Learning Facilitator for teams that attend the Institute.
