In order to create a strong sense of belonging where everyone can be their authentic selves and feel pride in their district, it’s essential to build true partnerships with parents, caregivers, and community members. A key way to achieve this is by opening school doors to the community, showcasing the learning happening inside.

In my district, we hold annual Educational Summits where caregivers, parents, and community members share their expertise. These summits feature workshops, keynote speakers, and resources provided by our own community members. This approach is both empowering and uplifting, fostering a deeper sense of connection and belonging within our district.

These events highlight what we all care about, what we share, and how our differences can strengthen us. By learning from one another, our district grows stronger, more inclusive, and more united.
