MARCH 2023 | DR. CHRISTINA KISHIMOTO
Dr. Katrise Perera is Superintendent of the Lancaster Independent School District in Texas. She has held superintendent roles at the Gresham-Barlow School District and Isle of Wight County Schools. She has also held the role of national director of urban markets for McGraw Hill, and served in leadership roles at Houston ISD and Henrico County Public Schools. She began her career as a teacher in Charlottesville City Schools.
Dr. Perera is widely recognized as an innovative and visionary leader who has been successful in raising achievement across diverse school systems. She earned her Doctorate in Educational Leadership and Policy from Virginia Tech and holds a Master’s degree in Administration & Supervision from Virginia Commonwealth University, a Master of Arts degree in Teaching from Mary Baldwin College, and a Bachelor’s degree in Merchandising with a minor in Marketing from the University of Louisiana, where she was also a premiere Division-I college athlete.
