It’s the start of a new year, and for many of us, it is a time to set intentions, goals, and resolutions. You see this a lot in the wellness space. And I love it. The new year is a time of reflection and when we feel energized to start something new. We can let go of the past year and focus on how we want to feel going forward.

In my yoga classes, I see an influx of new students, some of who have never done yoga before and are intimidated because they aren’t flexible and can’t touch their toes. Please know that the length of your hamstrings is not the measure of your fitness! Don’t do nothing because you can’t do everything. Yoga is a lifelong practice, and you may never be able to touch your toes. And there is no judgment there. Please be gentle with yourself.

In the Wellness Corner over the past few months, we kept everything very low to the ground in restorative yoga poses. This month we are going to practice challenging our balance. With the holidays behind us and school starting again, I know I can use the practice of balance. How about you?

Please join me on the mat for this 30-minute practice.

Grab your mat and blocks, and I’ll see you there.
